Nashville, TN – A legislative panel is examining the entity that disciplines Tennessee judges. A Senate Judiciary sub-committee meets for a second time today to review the Court of the Judiciary, which the state Legislature created more than 30 years ago. Council Chairman Senator Dewayne Bunch says lawmakers have never really paused to see if "the process is working like it's supposed to." One question before the sub-committee is whether or not to make Court of the Judiciary deliberations and reprimand of judges public. He says most of the cases today are currently resolved privately.
