Man Convicted in Clarksville Murders Released from Prison

By Chris Taylor

Clarksville, TN – A Radcliff, Kentucky man awaiting a new trial for allegedly helping to plan a deadly attack on four Taco Bell employees in the nineties is free on bond. Montgomery County Judge John Gasaway yesterday reduced David Housler's bond to $15,000 and granted him a new trial. Housler had been convicted in the deaths, but continued to maintain his innocence for the 15 years of his incarceration. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports Gasaway granted a new trial because a confession Housler made to authorities and later recanted was admitted uncontested during trial. It was the only piece of evidence connecting Housler to the crime.
