Bowling Green, KY – A series of public hearings on the Tennessee Valley Authority's plans to rely more on nuclear power and less on coal begins today in Bowling Green. The utility has also set public hearings for the rest of the week throughout the seven southern states it serves. The draft Integrated Resources Plan is intended to help TVA's efforts to meet regional electricity needs over the next 20 years. The utility is seeking public comment through November before it submits the plan to the federal Environmental Protection Agency for an environmental impact review.
