Murray, KY – Murray State president Dr. Randy Dunn is among 15 candidates short-listed for the statewide University of Tennessee system's search for a new president. UT announced today/Wednesday that Dunn made the cut from 71 applicants.
"While I'm appreciative to UT for being on the discussed list, as they're calling it. I'm not looking wholesale at looking at another institution," Dunn said.
Dunn says there are about 20 or so institutions on his short list of places to go, but he says he and his wife Ronda are quite happy at Murray State and wouldn't look to leave MSU for another similar regional university. A UT media relations representative says, the short-list now goes to the Presidential Search Committee. The committee meets Thursday to narrow the list. As many as five applicants could be selected for on-site interviews scheduled for next week.
