Smithland, KY – Citizens of Smithland will vote this November on a measure to allow alcohol sales in restaurants within city limits. Smithland resident Diane Fraley collected enough verified signatures to put the petition up to vote. Fraley says offering alcohol is the only way she can secure financial investors to restore the historic Gower House, which she plans to convert into a restaurant. Mayor Joe Ward says he welcomes anything that would increase city revenue.
