Mayfield, KY – The Mayfield Zoning Board may reverse their decision to deny a conditional use permit for a mosque in the city's downtown. The board denied the permit based on limited parking, but the American Civil Liberties Union appealed the decision. The ACLU says the petitioner Khader Ahmed did not get a chance to speak during a public comment hearing. The ACLU is also concerned because the board had previously approved the permit. They nullified that vote because they didn't allow for comment. The ACLU claims circumstances did not change between the two decisions. The Zoning Board members meet tomorrow morning at ten in Mayfield City Hall.
