Clarksville, Tenn. – Clarksville's Montgomery County Health Department now has $2.1 million in special needs funding for clinic renovations. Wednesday, Tennessee's Health Department Commissioner presented the funds from the federal Women, Infants and Children program. Health Department spokesperson Shelley Walker says the renovations will include construction of a 10,000-foot addition to the health department facility. Walker says, construction plans are still being finalized. The Montgomery County clinic is the largest rural WIC clinic in Tennessee, and served more than 10,000 patients in the last year.
