Cadiz, KY – Some Murray State University students are helping look for unmarked African-American burial plots in Trigg County this weekend. The students are helping the Cadiz Renaissance on Main program as it works to upgrade a city-owned cemetery. One of the program's goals is to put up a monument to the number of African-Americans buried there without markers. Cadiz Mayor Lyn Bailey says the monument has been needed "for a long time." Murray State professor Anthony Ortmann says he and five students plan to use radar equipment to determine where the unmarked graves are located.
