Frankfort, KY – Most Kentucky counties have begun allowing voters to cast absentee ballots for this year's general election.
A statement from the secretary of state's office Monday says county clerks are required to offer in-house absentee voting at least 12 working days before the November 2nd election. The deadline to cast an in-house absentee ballot is November 1st. Mail-in absentee ballots also can be requested for certain reasons, including disability, illness or being out of town on election day.
Applications for mail-in ballots must be received by the county clerk's office by October 26th and ballots must be returned by 6:00 p.m. local time on election day.
