Frankfort, KY – The federal government has awarded a $1 million grant to Kentucky to help evaluate the health insurance market and look into operating a state health insurance exchange. The state Cabinet for Health and Family Services says health insurance exchanges are required by 2014 to offer health insurance for individuals and small businesses.
The cabinet says the exchanges are expected to help the public compare benefits by offering bargaining power comparable to larger groups and giving more choices to consumers.
