Mortons Gap, KY – Mortons Gap's Police Chief Jim Griffin is stepping down from the Hopkins County Post because of health concerns. The 43 year veteran of law enforcement came out of retirement to accept the Morton Gap job. Mayor Frank Stafford began searching for a replacement Tuesday and says he should have a new police chief chosen before Sunday, Griffin's last day.
