Illinois – Illinois' jobless rate is under ten percent for the first time in nearly a year and a half. September marked the sixth consecutive month that the state's unemployment rate has fallen. Department of Employment Security officials say the jobless rate dropped to 9.9 percent. The trade, transportation and utilities sectors added the most jobs. Overall, state officials say Illinois has added more than 50,000 jobs this year.
