Roughly the area of annex

Paducah, KY – The Paducah City Commission last night approved an intent-to-annex ordinance for 1 hundred and 74 acres on the city's southern limits. The property property extends from Bechdolt Road south to Interstate 24, west of Poole Road and east of Schneidman Road. Most of the area is currently owned by the Paducah & Louisville Railroad, Paducah Power System and the Tennessee Valley Authority. All have signed on to the annexation.
City Planning Director Steve Ervin says the property would be rezoned from residential to heavy industrial and will bring Paducah Power's peaking plant into the city limits. County Commissioner Jerry Beyer says the McCracken County Fiscal Court has concerns over the annexation's legality, as well as the area's access to police and fire protection.
