Frankfort, KY – Paxton as First Vice President appeared with President Elaine Walker to say the organization is more transparent and accountable. Paxton says the K-L-C has acted on 35 findings in a state Auditor's report and overhauled its practices on the use of credit cards, travel and employee bonuses. "It's very important to note that these are not superficial or short-lived procedural changes. A cultural change has occurred. We realize that KLC will be measured not by what we say, but by what we do," Paxton said.
The league has also adopted whistle-blower protections, Paxton said, for the reporting of abuses. The K-L-C came under fire last year after a series of articles in the Lexington Herald-Leader detailed spending practices by the League's executive staff. The expenses included things like Adult Entertainment and tickets to sporting events.
