Paducah, KY – McCracken County School officials are requesting further details on 80 of almost 200 proposed changes that would reduce the construction costs of the consolidated High School. Architects and engineers estimate the changes would amount to about $10 million in savings. The Paducah Sun reports the changes would not reduce the school's size or significantly alter its appearance. Among the proposed changes include eliminating three decorative water fountains and reducing the school's parking capacity by about half. School officials are seeking ways to cut constructions after bids came in about $7 million over estimate.
