Frankfort, KY – US Senate candidate Jack Conway yesterday evening was firing up the base at Kentucky Democratic Party headquarters in Frankfort. Singling out women in the crowd, Conway told them they have a clear choice next Tuesday.
"Let me step back and say that what happened at the debate - outside, the scuffle - on Monday was reprehensible. And my opponent needs to do more. He needs to condemn that individual. He not only needs to condemn that individual. He needs to condemn the other three men that pulled her to the ground."
Conway was referring to a pre-debate scuffle, caught on camera, showing an unpaid volunteer for Republican Rand Paul allegedly assaulting a liberal activist. Paul, who made five campaign stops in southern Kentucky Thursday, has already condemned the incident and accuses Conway of "grandstanding."
