Quinn Clings to Thin Margin in Illinois Governor Race

By AP

Springfield, IL – Governor Pat Quinn says he believes he has won the Illinois governor's race. With 98% of precincts reporting, both Quinn and his Republican opponent, state Senator Bill Brady, had 46% of the vote. Quinn's lead was just more than 9,100 votes out of more than 3.6 million votes cast. Quinn says he wants all the votes to be counted, but he says when they are counted he believes he will prevail.
