Southeast Henry County, Tenn., could gain from water service extension

By Jacque Day

Henry County, Tenn. – Public interest will determine whether a rural Henry County, Tennessee fire department gets more water access. The Springville Utility District holds a public meeting 6:30 PM Tuesday at the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department to gauge interest in extending direct water supply lines to the southeastern Henry County community. Volunteer Fire Chief Randy Canady says the extension will help them, because the department currently only has access to five hydrants throughout the district, and that sometimes they are forced to draw water from swimming pools.

The meeting takes place 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Oakland Fire Hall on Highway 69A east of Paris.
