Mayfield, KY – The Mayfield Zoning Board meets again to consider a conditional use permit for a mosque tomorrow. The meeting will be the third time the board has voted on the permit. Members met last month and decided to nullify their August decision to deny the permit. The American Civil Liberties Union had requested the board reverse that ruling because the petitioner did not get a chance to speak. Mayfield police turned a representative for the petitioner away at the door because of capacity limits. The officers did not know the person was a petitioner. The board denied the conditional use permit in August because of limited parking at the downtown location. Mayfield City Planner Brad Rodgers says ACLU representatives plan to monitor tomorrow's meeting.
