Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell's Blanchfield Army Community Hospital has settled a lawsuit with a local woman who claims negligence on the part of contracted doctor caused her infant daughter to develop cerebral palsy. The 2008 lawsuit claimed the doctor did not perform a Caesarean-section in a timely manner on Sahra Sutton to prevent oxygen loss to the brain of her daughter despite clear warnings. The hospital has agreed to pay her a $6 million settlement, but as the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports, the payment is no admission of guilt on the part of the hospital, the Army or the doctor.
