Louisville, KY – The University of Louisville will officially kickoff its latest fundraising campaign tomorrow Wednesday evening.
The "Charting our Course" campaign is an effort to raise 750 million dollars by 2013. It began silently three years ago. The University has already raised about 360 million dollars. Vice President of University Advancement Keith Inman says this is the school's largest fundraising drive so far.
"We've had two previous campaigns: one in the 80s, the Challenge for Excellence which raised about $62 million; and then the bicentennial campaign in the mid-90s which raised over $350 million. So at $750 million we're certainly double what we've ever done before."
Murray State University is currently is quickly approaching its campaign goal. The Hold Thy Banner High campaign has raised over $54 million of their $60 million goal. The majority of the campaign funds student scholarships and academic services.
