Gov-elect Haslam Taps Ingram to Lead Transition

By AP

Nashville, TN – Tennessee's Governor-elect Bill Haslam has tapped his top campaign consultant Tom Ingram to run his transition team. Haslam calls Ingram "the obvious choice" to lead his transition team because of his long experience in Tennessee politics. Ingram until last year served as chief of staff to U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander and also worked on the Republican's staff when he was governor of Tennessee.

Ingram will be assisted by Haslam campaign manager Mark Cate and Lewis Lavine, the president of the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville and another former top Alexander aide. Haslam last week defeated Democrat Mike McWherter to succeed term-limited Governor Phil Bredesen.
