Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell officials say if an AWOL soldier does turn himself in today, he won't get any special treatment. Thirty-year-old Specialist Jeff Hanks says he went AWOL to find treatment for post traumatic stress disorder. Hanks says the army refused to treat him during a mid-tour leave from Afghanistan. Fort Campbell spokesperson Kelly DeWitt says Hanks will receive the same processing as any other AWOL soldier. DeWitt says it's unfair to focus on one soldier on Veteran's Day when around 15,000 101st Airborne Division soldiers are deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hanks will turn himself in at a demonstration later this afternoon.
