Murray, KY – A judge has denied a request to dismiss a plea agreement for a man accused of killing a Calloway County man. Michael Lynch of Murray entered an Alford plea in October in connection to the 2009 murder of Carl Douglas McGowan. The Murray Ledger and Times reports Lynch asked Circuit Judge Dennis Foust to drop that plea and allow a trial. Foust ruled this week that he would not meet the request. Lynch's previous 25-year prison sentence remains in effect. Another defendant, Timothy Adams of Murray, also entered an Alford plea and received a 12-year sentence.
