Paducah, KY – Temperatures in Paducah reached record highs today. Paducah National Weather Service Meteorologist Jim Packett says today's high of 78 matches the record set in 1989. Packett says southerly flow and high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere have kept the region warm and dry for the majority of the week. Highs will return to normal levels tomorrow as a front moves through bringing a 70 percent chance for rain. Temperatures will also drop to more seasonable levels on Sunday.
