Mayfield, KY – A public meeting will be held in Mayfield tonight, to share details on a new study of the Interstate 69 corridor in Kentucky. The study covers issues that will need to be addressed to get an official I-69 designation From the Federal Highway Administration. The corridor from Eddyville to Fulton is made up of the Western Kentucky Parkway, I-24, and the Purchase Parkway. Officials in the Bluegrass state believe routing I-69 over existing parkways may give the state an advantage over states that would have to construct the Interstate from scratch.
Kentucky I-69 project coordinator Ted Merryman says eight projects to upgrade interchanges have already been included in the State Highway Plan. Tonight's public meeting will be held at the Purchase Area Development District Office from 5:30 until 7:30 .Central time.
