Gilbertsville, KY – Cleanup of a large-scale methlab site near Gilbertsville won't be cheap. The cost could exceed $100,000. About 60 sports and soft-drink bottles containing sulfuric acid were found in a pair of vacant Marshall County trailers, along with other meth-related trash including ether, drain cleaner, camping fuel, and lithium batteries among other debris. Police have no suspects and the property owner faces an Environmental Protection Agency-enforced cleanup bill. Marshall County authorities tell the Paducah Sun there's no way the county could have handled cleaning up a site of its magnitude.
