Weakley County, Tenn. – The U.S. Department of Agriculture has designated Weakley County, Tennessee a natural disaster area due to losses caused by drought and excessive heat this year. It's one of 12 Tennessee counties to receive the designation. Qualified farmers are eligible for low-interest emergency loans from the USDA Farm Service Agency. Farmers and ranchers in contiguous Henry and Obion counties, as well as Graves and Hickman counties in Kentucky, also qualify for natural disaster assistance.
