Frankfort, KY – Kentucky officials are asking retailers to stop selling alcoholic energy drinks. The move comes after the Federal Drug Administration sent letters to four drink-makers warning that the caffeine added to those beverages constitutes an "unsafe food additive." The FDA report indicated caffeine could mask the affects of alcohol. State Alcoholic Beverage Control attorney Peter Ervin says it's possible the state general assembly will consider legislation to permanently ban these products.
