Murray, KY – The Kentucky Department for Public Health is warning about food safety. Around 325,000 people are hospitalized each year due to food poisoning. Health officials recommend storing hot foods at 135 degrees or higher, storing cold foods at 41 degrees or lower, and throwing away food that has been sitting out longer than two hours. Turkey should be thawed in refrigerators and not at room temperature.
