Clarksville, TN – The father of a Fort Campbell soldier who died in Afghanistan this month believes his son's death was a suicide. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports 27-year-old Staff Sargeant David Senft was found dead in an SUV inside Kandahar Airfield November 15. Senft had a single gunshot wound to the head. A military release says Senft died from a non-combat related incident, and army officials are investigating. Senft's father, also named David, says his son struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts. Army investigators do not confirm the possibility of suicide, but say they are looking into all leads in the case.
