Tennessee, Illinois – Tennessee's average statewide unemployment remains unchanged from September to October, but that isn't true for individual counties. Non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for October were down in 43 counties, and up in 38. Northwestern counties saw a marginal reduction. Tennessee's statewide unemployment is 9.6 percent. In Illinois, unemployment dropped three tenths of a percent to 9.2 from September to October. Massac County is doing better than the state average at 8 percent, a drop of more than half a percent from September.
