Nashville, TN – Republican Tennessee Governor-elect Bill Haslam says he plans to move into the executive office suite in the state Capitol before scheduled repairs. The Capitol is scheduled to shut down after the Legislature adjourns next year to complete a 14-million-dollar upgrade. Workers will improve the 151-year-old building's mechanical and electrical systems. Haslam will live in the building until repairs begin. He says details are still being worked out on where he will live during the repair period. Similar renovation work was performed on the Senate and House chambers last year.
