Tennessee – Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen has requested natural disaster status for 28 additional farm counties, including Henry County. The request comes as a result of drought and excessive heat during the growing season. Weakley County was among the first round to receive the status, which makes low-interest emergency USDA Farm Service Agency loans available to eligible farmers. Crop losses in these counties range from 30 to 50 percent.
