Frankfort, KY – Kentucky lawmakers and Beshear administration officials are arguing over who's to blame for problems with an 800-million dollar contract for Medicaid services in the Louisville area. Health and Family Services Secretary Janie Miller says lawmakers are partly at fault, for tying the Cabinet's hands. But Senate President David Williams fired right back.
"You should consider the criticism that the auditor put on you, which basically is you haven't done your job. You haven't been able to be in a position to negotiate a contract with Passport. For three years you haven't been there."
Moving forward, Miller informed lawmakers of a meeting the administration will have next Tuesday with the Passport Board of Directors. To be discussed at the session is the 11-point Corrective Action Plan released by Governor Beshear.
