Lexington, KY – Malpractice suits don't just trouble physicians .they also worry lawyers. Pete Gullett, who practiced law in Hazard for nearly 30 years, now heads the Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company. Gullett says most malpractice suits against lawyers involve personal injury or real estate.
"Legal malpractice tends to run pretty consistently in some fairly well worn channels. Most lawyers carry legal malpractice insurance because they realize that they are human that they might make a mistake and they want their client to be recompensed if they do make a mistake."
Last week, Gullett participated in a Kentucky Bar Association law update meeting in Lexington.
