Clarksville, TN – A northern Montgomery County, Tennessee resident claims he's being charged long distance fees for calling Clarksville numbers or using the 911 service. Residents living in South Guthrie with 485 prefixes have telephone lines routed in nearby Guthrie, Kentucky. Basil Beckelheimer says he's filed several complaints with the Tennessee Regulatory Authority to no effect. A TRA representative tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle a complaint process has been initiated. According to the agency, it has no record of previous long-distance charge complaints, but says records lost in Cumberland River flooding earlier this year could be to blame.
