Frankfort, KY – Three new grants totaling more than $2.3 million dollars will allow Kentucky officials to provide more help to the elderly, disabled, and their caregivers in understanding health and long-term care options. The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services says the funds will help families understand Medicare and Medicaid benefits, including coverage for preventive services. The agency says education will also be provided under the grants to explain options for long-term care, including services that would allow people to remain in their homes. Another area that will receive help is assisting people who are moving from nursing or rehab facilities back to their homes.
