Hopkinsville, KY – Kentucky legislators this next session need to stem three huge leaks in the Commonwealth's budget according to the state's Chamber of Commerce President Dave Adkisson. The Kentucky New Era reports Adkisson spoke to Hopkinsville city officials and the business community yesterday at a breakfast meeting in the James Bruce Convention Center. Adkisson says while Kentucky's almost $9 billion budget has grown over 41% over the past dozen years, spending on prisons, Medicaid and public employee health has greatly outpaced that rate.
