Murray, KY – With temperatures hovering near zero, water pipes are at high risk of freezing and bursting. Murray Plumber Kent Price suggests keeping cabinet doors open to heat water pipes. He also says keeping faucets dripping is a good idea, but that practice shouldn't be used during long periods of cold because drain pipes then run the risk of freezing and bursting. Price also says if pipes do burst, you should shut off the home's water supply and immediately call a professional plumber.
