Paducah, KY – Paducah School officials have approved a measure to obtain property through eminent domain. Board members unanimously passed the motion yesterday. School board attorney Mark Whitlow tells the school board has made an agreement with 18 of 28 landowners. It's currently in talks with eight others and, so far, has two holdouts. Eminent domain would allow the school district to take landowners to court if they refuse to sell their property, which is needed to construct a new middle school. The properties in question lie along Lone Oak Road, between Clark and Adams streets.
