Murray, KY – West Kentucky Allied Services representatives say fewer people have sought financial help for heating assistance this year compared to past years. Social worker Clarissa Yarber says the organization has paid $580,486 in their subsidy program since October. This is down from the $625,412 distributed in 2008. Yarber attributes the lower number to less independent households in their 8-county region, she says lower income individuals have been moving back in with their families.
