Bowling Green, KY – Newly released data from the 2010 census shows Kentucky grew more slowly in the past decade that it did in the 1990s. That's not necessarily a bad thing, says demographer Ron Crouch at the Kentucky State Data Center.
"Growth in and of itself is not necessarily a positive. You know you maybe want to have some growth but you don't want to have excessive growth because you've got the infrastructure, education issues, things like that."
As of April of this year, there were four point three million people living in Kentucky, up seven point four percent from ten years ago. Indiana also saw population growth, but also at a slower rate. Neither state will lose congressional seats, according to the census bureau.
