Murray, KY – The Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah recently shifted daily flights to Memphis to Chicago. The colder climate in The Windy City can cause problems for holiday fliers. Airport manager Richard Roof says that even though winter weather can jeopardize some flights, the switch was worth it.
"There was a trade off but there were other considerations that mandated selecting Chicago as an advantage over Memphis. The weather will be one of the slight disadvantages."
Roof says currently the effect of Chicago's weather has been minimal and that only a few of Barkley's flights have been canceled.
