Fort Campbell, KY – Clarksville police say a Fort Campbell military police officer is charged in the shooting death of his girlfriend Christmas morning. Police say 27-year-old Timothy Andrew Putnam of Clarksville was charged with criminal attempted homicide following the incident early Saturday morning. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle says Putnam and 34-year-old Samantha Marie Miller had been arguing in their home when she was shot in the head. Police say she died later Saturday at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Earlier this week at Fort Campbell, a fight between two soldiers resulted in one being charged with attempted murder and assault for stabbing a military police officer.
