Former Chief Justice Could Run for Attorney General

By Todd Hatton / Associated Press

Frankfort, KY – Former Kentucky Chief Justice Joseph Lambert says he is considering running as a Republican for attorney general. The 62-year-old Mount Vernon resident says he'll make his decision before the January 25th filing deadline. Lambert would face Hopkins County Attorney Todd P'Pool if he enters the GOP primary. Lambert served 21 years on the Supreme Court, 10 of them as chief justice. Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway hasn't yet drawn a primary opponent.
