Metropolis, IL – The controversial Metro Pony strip club in Metropolis is open and operating legally. City Attorney Rick Abell says they have all the required licenses to sell liquor, but have not sold any to date. Abell tells the Paducah Sun a city ordinance prohibits see-through clothing, requires some part of the anatomy to be covered at all times and bans nude dancing in places that serve alcohol. The city is working with attorneys in Chattanooga, Tennessee to regulate behavior within the club. Abell says they want to create regulations that can be easily enforced. There has been public opposition to the club, but no present legal claims against it.
