Richmond, KY – The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education is finishing development on a better system for sharing information. For too long, President Bob King says his agency and others like it have clung to data they've collected on teachers and teacher training. King says they created what's called informational silos.'
"By integrating the data it would allow us to develop a much broader understanding of how well our students are doing, how well our teachers are doing, and through that, how well our programs are doing particularly those that are used to prepare teachers."
King says work on a data sharing system began about two years ago. He says it should be fully operational over the next year or so.
