Hopkins County, KY –
With new authority granted by the Fiscal Court, Hopkins County Judge Executive Donnie Carroll plans to cut three county positions to save up to $40,000 dollars. Carroll tells the Madisonville Messenger the county plans to restructure personnel, including a new community development director job. One position being cut is Sanitation Department director, presently held by Roy Day. Carroll says the responsibilities will fall to road foreman Jeff Browning. Carroll could not comment on the other two cuts because those employees have not yet been informed.
