Nashville, TN – The Tennessee state Revenue Department is trying to increase oversight amid an FBI inquiry into the actions of its previous commissioner. Revenue Commissioner Charles Trost has given the department's new chief compliance officer authority to, in his words, go anywhere and look into anything or anyone in the department. Trost has also authorized Assistant Commissioner Arnold Clapp to report his findings to the attorney general, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation or the state comptroller.
